Traditional olive groves and especially the old aged ones have the highest capacity to support biodiversity because they are low intensive. We support the cultivation techniques that increase biodiversity levels ensuring that we work with nature and not against it.

As concerned scientists we must work to change the agricultural practices for the better of our planet. Scientific knowledge must be combined with traditional and local knowledge to develop and implement agroecological innovations to address global challenges such as climate change and natural ecosystem degradation.
