The Themelion project is our attempt to prevent the abandonment of traditional century-old olive groves because of the adoption of industrial high density olive farms which are an environmental hazard for the Mediterranean ecological stability.
Our mission is to establish a new agro-ecological approach for the cultivation of olive trees to face Climate change and Biodiversity loss.
The Themelion Project promotes the environmental, landscape and economic value of Greek extra virgin olive oil and informs consumers about the health benefits of the Greek EVO and the importance to preserve the more-than-a- hundred Greek Olive species, whose genetic material evolved for centuries and is now a heritage of the future generations.
